I recently switched from FF to VV (Vivaldi) and although the snowflake extension does appear to install and to be functional, there is no activity. None in several days. Is it that VV is Chrome-based but not explicitly recognized as a valid browser for Snowflake? Or is it just a question of time?
When I was testing this extension on FF I also saw nothing and learned that just installing did not activate it. I had to go to the extension page and activate by agreeing to some disclaimer and click yes.
It’s on this forum somewhere:
Here: I wanted to give Snowflake a try

I’m not doing that anymore but it may be useful to @N0tSure
Do you remember if you went through the consent page and clicked consent. This was my problem. That consent button is not in your face as it should be. You may have the scroll.
I gave you the wrong link above.
Then I discovered this command by @WofWca to see stats. I did not investigate to see if it was a Firefox thing only.
Yes it was all very frustrating. I switched to a Snowflake proxy which was also frustrating but I got through it with help from here.
Let’s assume that your snowflake is actually working. It could take hours for someone to use your snowflake. It takes long because I believe the Tor network is verifying that it’s stable enough. As soon as it’s ready, now you have to wait for the probability of a person using a snowflake at all, and if they’d even use yours. I once left the browser open while doing a project, and the most I got was two. If there really is a problem then idk. Hope this helps!
That’s what I thought. Just checking.
It’s not the case for Snowflake. It’s only applicable to Tor relays, which Snowflake proxies are not.
Oh ok lol. But just saying that the probablility of a user using a snowflake (randomization is the default so more people will use that) and of that user using your own snowflake is still low.
