Most secure way of removing Tor icon on New Tab

I searched much for that and getting only Firefox-specific solutions: ADD-ONs! I’ll surely not do that!

I’m asking you for the most secure way, that is will not affect Tor Browser security or privacy a cent!

Also, do you know how to make “.onion available” button not show at all?

I think you get it: I do not want anyone looking at my monitor to know I’m using Tor Browser. I think a Topic that should be heavily discussed before. I don’t know why I can’t find any.

Ways: Whether change or remove icon of about:newtab, or make new tab button (or Ctrl+T) opens about:blank instead which doesn’t show an icon next to “New Tab” already. Or any other way that will get the target done.

To remove or use a different icon on a new tab see my answer to your other question.

I don’t think there is a way to suppress the “.onion available” toolbar message in TB’s settings. You could use a local proxy to block the onion-location HTTP response header, as that is what triggers the message.

You raise an interesting point about a user wanting to conceal the unique aspects of Tor Browser’s UI from a casual observer while you are browsing. I’ll create a post in the Feedback section which points to your 2 questions.
