I believe the icons live in the tor-browser/Browser/browser/omni.ja archive file. Open that and look in thechrome/browser/content/branding directory. Remove or change those image files or maybe rename the branding dir itself. Just to be safe, you might want to verify that doing this has no impact on your browser’s fingerprint (maybe one of the Tor devs can confirm this).
