Why does Tor network not use certificates issued by CAs?

Hi I’m new in the forum. I started to be interested in how Tor works, as I understand it does not use certificates from CAs to start TLS connections between two Onion Routers, or between a client and an Onion Router, but uses self-signed certificates. I would be very interested to understand why.

Hello,

Did you already read this documentation about it => Tor Project | HTTPS for your Onion Service ?

I think it’s mainly because there is not a lot of CA who is supporting .onion TLD and the server identity if “confirmed” too by the .onion link
