Which relay is the most useful?

I want to set up my first relay and was curious which of two options would be the most useful to the network/community:

  1. A VPS with 8TB bandwidth in a low weight country like Estonia.
  2. A VPS with 20TB bandwidth in a place like Amsterdam

I hear a lot about the fact that a lot of Tor nodes are concentrated in places like the Netherlands and Germany and how that is a problem. But I also know that capacity/bandwidth/speed is important. So which is more beneficial : less capacity but in a lower weighted location or higher capacity in a super weighted location? Both are 1 Gbps

Thanks!

I would try with the first option, network diversity is an often overlooked aspect for Tor; unless you are planning to deploy an exit node, you should have no problems with the hosting provider (afaik).
8 TB is also a decent traffic cap, depending how performing the VPS is.
Thank you for the interest and effort towards a saner network! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
