What's the difference between TorVPN and Orbot

Both work on Android, both proxy traffic for the entire system or individual apps.

The main difference is probably that Orbot uses C-Tor and Tor VPN uses Tor’s Rust implementation called Arti. Arti is being built as C-Tor is like 20+ years using C, and Rust is a newer language that is more secure, also there are some architecture redesigns for easier maintenance of Tor.

And Tor VPN is being developed officially by the Tor Project; Orbot is made by the Guardian Project.

Tor Arti is not the main version of Tor yet, it’s in development, so right now most stuff uses C-Tor.

Orbot can host tor hidden services on android. Can/will TorVPN (be able
to) do that as well?
