[warn] {REND} Possible replay detected!

A few days ago my install of tor-0.4.9.2-alpha.tar.gz became unresponsive. This is the first time in a VERY LONG time (years) which I recall this happening.

I tried to load one of my onion sites and it wouldn’t load. I can’t recall the exact error message, sorry, but I could tell the problem was not due to the app tor is paired with. Looking at my log file I can see I sent the HUP signal to reload the configuration, but that didn’t work. I had to quit tor and open it up again.

So I went looking through tor’s log and only one line stands out:

[warn] {REND} Possible replay detected! An INTRODUCE2 cell with the same ENCRYPTED section was seen 3 seconds ago. Dropping cell.

It seems this: is at/or near the ISP level since I encrypt all my descriptors but one, i.e. using client auth public keys.

Also, I’ve been running a snowflake proxy on another machine.

All of this is behind a NAT from a well known ISP.
