For other Live distributions which do not include Tor and which I use for “clearnet” activities, I specify this option:
ipv6.disable=1
in grub boot because (a) my network hardware does not support ipv6 and (b) since I’m not using it, there is a benefit in disabling it if you keep up with past, present, and future security news.
This custom option causes Ferm to fail upon boot, you can see it if you press the down arrow on your keyboard as Tails is loading, Ferm will fail.
Once I discovered this I stopped passing that option in grub and continue to boot Tails without any personalized grub options.
I’m only posting this in case this is a bug and can be resolved. This option is probably only used by the 1% if even that but I noticed and I’m reporting.
