Steps before WebTunnel bridge & middle relay setup?

I’m looking to start hosting some WebTunnels and middle relays and would like to know the groundwork needed prior to following the steps on the WebTunnel or relay guides. Does anyone know of guides or could share the steps and best practices to get to the point where I can pick up with the guides from the Tor Project site?

Guess you should only do this, if you have separate IP(s), otherwise it won’t make so much sense, when your IP is already blocked by the censors because of your relay…

Yes, I would run one service per IP. I’m just trying to find out once I pay for a domain and VPS, and install an OS on the VPS, what the next steps will be prior to following the steps on the Tor guide. Basically, how do I set up the domain and VPS to be ready for Tor services?

For the domain. Simply point the A (AAAA) record at the IPv4 (IPv6).

For the server, update it and have a recurring task for this. Preferably make it only accessible by ssh-key and block password authentication. In case there is firewalling active, adapt it to your needs (might be external firewalls by the hosting company or locally installed firewalls like ufw/iptables). And you might want to monitor/meter your server, if everything is running as expected.

But for starters. A record, updating and then following the guides. gl&hf
