Snowflake Daily Operations May 2026 update

Snowflake Daily Operations collects donations to fund operation of the snowflake-01 bridge. This is the May 2026 update.

The Internet shutdown in Iran largely ended on 2026-05-26. While the Internet in Iran is still highly restricted, making circumvention systems like Snowflake necessary, it is no longer almost completely cut off as it has been for most of 2026 so far.

The effect of the end of the shutdown is evident in a sudden near-doubling of users and bandwidth at the snowflake-01 bridge. As usage increases, so does the cost of operating the service, so please consider donating to support the operation of the bridge.

Although the increase in usage coincides with the end of the shutdown in Iran, most of the new traffic is attributed, by IP address geolocation, to the U.S. We believe that this is geolocation error; the same effect was visible at the beginning of the shutdown.
