Snowflake Daily Operations collects donations to fund operation of the snowflake-01 bridge. This is the May 2025 update.
The number of users from Turkmenistan, which increased greatly at the end of April 2025, became somewhat smaller in May, though it remains far above what it has been at any point before.
It was mainly usage from Turkmenistan that led to a minor overall increase in users and bandwidth.
Are there stats like this for 02.snowflake.torproject.net ??
Yes. For Snowflake Daily Operations updates, I only include the snowflake-01 bridge, because only that bridge is funded by the Snowflake Daily Operations project. But all the same information is available for the snowflake-02 bridge as well. Here are some graphs that show both bridges:
As you can see, the two bridges have pretty similar usage patterns, though there are more users from Iran on snowflake-01 and more from Russia on snowflake-02, for unknown reasons.
These graphs are made using the scripts in the snowflake-graphs repository. See the README.md file for instructions on how to recreate them yourself. You have to download a whole bunch (currently about 7 GB) of Tor Metrics descriptors using the wget command given in the documentation. Then you run make to crunch the descriptors into some CSV files for graphing. For historical data, you can use the existing CSV files that I update once a month:
