Bandwidth on the snowflake-01 bridge remained steady throughout December 2023, while the average number of simultaneous users grew from 30,000 to 35,000. The glitch on 15 December was caused by a restart of the bridge, about which more below.
On 2023-12-15 we upgraded tor on the snowflake-01 bridge to version 0.4.8.10. This release fixed the user counting bug that had affected the bridge since October. The difference between the high and low estimates of the number of simultaneous users per country per day has returned almost to zero, which is as it should be. Estimated user counts are returning to normal for other pluggable transport bridges as well.
