Is there any connection between Snowflake and Snowstorm besides both being developed by Serene?

From what I’ve read on the website and some news articles, I believe this is a completely separate project. Even some people who work on Snowflake were actually surprised of existence of Snowstorm.

OPEN SOURCE on website without links where code can be checked? This is suspicious.
Open source (and open development) usually allows to gain trust, while such openness, as I saw on the website, creates only distrust.
Let’s see, maybe situation will change in future.
FYI Snowstorm is apparently founded by Serene, (one of?) the original Snowflake creator.
