Onion websites are not inherently more dangerous than any other website, so the same recommendations apply. This includes to remind that if you actively look for illegal stuff you will probably end up on scam websites.
Anyway, increasing Tor Browser’s security level to Safest will minimize your attack surface, and I expect most onion websites to work all the same.

Thanks for your suggestion. But can someone verify the onion site properly? Because many guides I’ve seen say it’s a bit difficult to verify, maybe because the site is down, or something else I don’t know. AI also told me: it’s difficult to verify, unless you use Openkeychain, and others (I forgot what he said). Is it really that difficult? I don’t intend to look for illegal things like other people, this is a problem.
What do you mean by “verify”?
Anyway, do not (blindly) trust AIs.
They generate text statistically, but have no understanding of anything: they don’t apply the concepts of “correct”, “wrong” and “meaning”, so some of their outputs are correct, some others are wrong, some others just make no sense.
In your case, the latter probably applies: if you mean OpenKeychain the app for Android, there is materially no way to apply it to onion websites. Let me make a very dump example: “use OpenKeychain to verify an onion website” makes sense as much as “use a glass of water to send an email”.

normally,tor browser is already configured to protect you from risks.if you are not afraid about anonymity,you can browse .onion websites like common websites.some people are scared because owners of .onion websites can create illegal websites without being found by the police.here is my tips if you want a maximum of security and anonymity :
- set the security level of tor browser to “Safest” (this may break lot of websites)
- don’t download strange files such as EXE/MSI/BAT/CMD/VBS/PS1/DEB/RPM
- restart tor browser between your different activities or randomly
- tor browser erase all navigation data when you close it but there is the same thing with the tor project’s operating system tails (an operating system is something like windows and android and iOS)
- check the authenticity of websites (check this post/look at tor project’s officials onions websites)
I’m sending you onion websites pretending you that you can be sure that the link of the post is real and the list of tor project’s onion websites is real but you can check it with the .onion available button that you can see if you go to the “normal URL” : the post/the official tor project onion URLs.
Hi, a possible way to verify an .onion site is if the operator of the .onion site would
use mfv and may take additional additional steps, like a verifying public key etc.
Example of my non-onion website.
At least mfv helps IMHO that nobody can tamper with the .onion site or publish
it’s content (which happened in the past) under another fake .onion URL.
