I did an experiment. I turned off the proxy to use Tor-Browser as an ordinary browser. But he does not load some sites, although any other browsers load them. What could be the reason?
Can you try with Mullvad Browser?
Basically if you want Tor Browser without Tor you want Mullvad Browser.
Checked Mullvad Browser. The test site loads perfectly.
Tor-Browser does not load this site. Not through a proxy, not without them.
Then use Mullvad Browser. As Pier said, it’s Tor Browser without tor. Almost, there are some slight differences
- MB allows webrtc (and therefore media.devices)
- which means the fingerprint is different to TB
IANAE on how tor is integrated within TB, but there are bound to be edge cases, code paths that expect fail without it - IDK if your use case is something we “officially” support
I thought that it was important for tech support to know about tor-browser errors in order to fix them. That’s why I wrote here.
What can be used by other browsers, I knew without you. It is written that the issue is resolved. But no one even considered this issue. Tor-Browser works crookedly, but it does not bother you.
Strange.
There is a possibility that the website itself might be blocking Tor traffic (unless you are sure it isn’t?) See: A website I am trying to reach is blocking access over Tor. | Tor Project | Support
Correct. We welcome all reports on anything, and a dev replied. Not all reports are actual issues or bugs. Not all reports have the same priority.
You’re using TB without tor, which defeats the purpose of using TB. It’s not config that we particularly care too much about. But I can assure you that a TB apps team dev has read this and decided what to do with it - in fact they replied to you. Consider it taken on board
The fact of the matter is that not Thor is blocking, but a tor-browser. And in it there is a mistake that needs to be fixed.
