Twitter has an onion service now. Perhaps this should be added to the list of search engines in Tor Browser a la DuckDuckGoOnion.
Do not have any hard facts but some preliminary research suggests that Twitter rate-limits the search traffic per IP and this limitation does not apply to the onion service.
Some potential caveats
a) Preliminary tests seem to indicate response of the onion service is slower than clearnet access even over Tor.
b) Twitter could potential serve different search results depending on the IP used, do not know how Twitter handles ‘personalisation’ in the case of onion service access.
