Problems with onion-domains on new browser versions

Hello everyone!

I’ve been waiting for someone to report this, but I haven’t found any mention of these problems in Issues tracker or forum. Is it really that unnoticeable?

1. Tor browser on desktop. Since about version 13 the always on onion function is missing, the user has to manually click on the notification to go to the onion mirror of the service on every page. It is not clear why it was decided to remove this function completely or at least not to hide it in about:config

2. Tor browser on Android. Since version 14, the always use onion setting is also gone. Unlike the PC version, the mobile version has no notification about the presence of onion mirrors and it is impossible to switch to the obiob version of the site from Android in principle

The automatic onion site prioritization was removed in Tor Browser 13.0.12.

Removal of automatic .onion site prioritization

The Tor Project has recently been notified of a potential fingerprinting vulnerability with automatic Onion-Location redirects. In an abundance of caution, we have removed the ‘prioritize .onion sites when known’ option from Tor Browser.
