ORPort 127.0.0.1:auto

Can you provide some more information on the torrc option:

ORPort 127.0.0.1:auto

How does that work? What are the implications?

It’s a way to hide your bridge’s ORPort.

See this issue:

  • rdsys is ignoring the running flag now
    • To hide your bridge’s ORPort:
ORPort 127.0.0.1:auto

Could you clarify that this is the expected result? The bridge will show as “offline” in the relay search metrics but the bridge will still be offered to users as long as it shows as “functional” on the bridges.torproject.org site.

Does the same apply for other bridge types, like webtunnel, too?
