Onionizing My Repos

Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum. I hope this is the correct place to put this post. I recently made a switch from Debian to Artix and I was looking to onionize my repos like I did in Debian. This was fairly straightforward in Debian with their apt-transport-tor package. With that installed, all you had to do was edit the sources list to Debian’s onion mirrors. However with Arch (or Artix) pacman is handling the mirrors and repos much differently. I did try to make it work by following the recommended instructions on on this Arch wiki page, however it didn’t work. I would get 404’s with the onion mirrors and when I tried the normal https mirrors the same would happen. Interestingly enough, I thought it was working with https mirrors when I would run “torsocks” in front of the pacman command. For example, torsocks pacman -Syu. However when I stopped the tor service and ran it again, it would still work. This is telling me that tor wasn’t even being used. Maybe also why I was getting 404’s on the onion mirrors. I realize this is probably not the “best” place to be asking for help regarding this, however I did exhaust my ability to find a solution in the arch and artix wikis. Also I made a statement regarding this on the Artix forum as well. I’m hoping perhaps someone here is also an Artix user or has extensive knowledge with Artix at least and can help me with this problem. .
