Hi everyone, I used to run a relay but now I’m a new snowflake standalone proxy volunteer and I just completed my setup. Just wanted to share my experience. I followed the installation guide on the Tor project website and installation was easy and straight forward.
The standalone snowflake proxy (v2.10.1) is running on Raspberry Pi 4 with 8 GB memory, Raspbian Bullseye with NAT unrestricted.
Network: ISP(Modem/Router) → Google Wifi (mesh) → Raspberry Pi
- Port forwarded UDP ports 32678-60999 to Google Wifi
- Port forwarded same ports from Google Wifi (using google home app) to point to Raspberry Pi
- Tested NAT using NAT behaviour discovery using STUN (stun/cmd/stun-nat-behaviour at master · pion/stun · GitHub)
and got these results for mapping and filtering behavior.
WARNING: 2024/12/03 11:43:02 => NAT mapping behavior: endpoint independent
WARNING: 2024/12/03 11:43:03 => NAT filtering behavior: endpoint independent
- Finally ran the snowflake proxy and got NAT unrestricted. Here are the results
Thanks to the TOR project team for this awesome project!
I also would like to invite any user with extra time and bandwidth to volunteer to the TOR snowflake project.
