New Release: Tor Browser 13.5.29

by ma1 | February 25, 2026

Tor Browser 13.5.29 is now available from the Tor Browser download page and also from our distribution directory.

This version includes important security updates to Firefox.

Important: this last scheduled release marks the end of the 13.5.x legacy channel, meant to extend the support for Windows 7/8/8.1 and macOS 10.12-10.14. If your OS is not one of these, you should download the latest stable from the 15.0 series instead.

No further updates to this 13.5.x legacy channel are planned: you are urged to upgrade to 15.0.x as soon as possible.

Hi,

Mozilla has extended Firefox 115 ESR support for Windows 7 and 8.x:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support

So there is a new Firefox 115 ESR version:

https://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/115.34.0esr/

So there should be a new version Tor Browser 13.5.30 of Tor Browser based on this Firefox 115 ESR version

Tor Browser, apart from Firefox, also consists of multiple components like pluggable transports.
With the operating system vendors long dropping support for these legacy operating systems, even even with Firefox extending support, it has become unfeasible to maintain the browser as a whole.

Tor Browser 13.5.29 was the final update through the legacy channel. Users on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 are advised to upgrade their operating systems for access to the up-to-date version of Tor Browser.
