Hi all,
My apologies if this is an old issue with an easy fix but I’ve not been able to find anything actionable despite searching here and the internet more generally.
I set my relay up and got it working according to systemctl and tor metrics. It was in the 0-3 days phase so not much traffic on it but no error messages. It went down all of a sudden at the same time people I live with lose internet and someone reset our router. I have reset the relay and checked all the port forwarding which is correct, the firewall which is all configured correctly with the right port open. In short it was working fine with the same settings only a day ago.
I will put some info below:
################ This section is just for relays #####################
See Support — Tor for details.
Required: what port to advertise for incoming Tor connections.
ORPort 9001
If you want to listen on a port other than the one advertised in
ORPort (e.g. to advertise 443 but bind to 9090), you can do it as
follows. You’ll need to do ipchains or other port forwarding
yourself to make this work.
#ORPort 443 NoListen
#ORPort 127.0.0.1:9090 NoAdvertise
The IP address or full DNS name for incoming connections to your
relay. Leave commented out and Tor will guess.
Address 86.158.201.24
If you have multiple network interfaces, you can specify one for
outgoing traffic to use.
OutboundBindAddress 10.0.0.5
A handle for your relay, so people don’t have to refer to it by key.
Nickname orac77
systemctl message:
Your server has not managed to confirm reachability for its ORPort(s) at 86.158.201.24:9001
