I’ve been trying to uninstall Tor Browser from my macOS system following the guide in the (web.tb-manual.torproject.org/uninstalling/), but I’m running into an issue. I’ve located the Tor Browser application in the Applications folder and moved it to Trash. However, when I navigate to the ~/Library/Application Support/ folder, I can’t seem to find the TorBrowser-Data folder.
I’ve tried using the “Go to Folder…” option in Finder, but it’s just not there. I’ve also checked the folder where I originally installed Tor, but I still can’t find the necessary files.
Is there something I might be missing or another location I should check? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Note that if you did not install Tor Browser in the default location (the Applications folder), then the TorBrowser-Data folder is not located in the ~/Library/Application Support/ folder, but in the same folder where you installed Tor Browser.
This is the case for me, maybe you. Also, it may be due to Apple encouraging developers to use their form of sandboxing, and deprecating the use of ~/Library/Application Support/. You don’t mentioned the version of macOS you’re using.
There are some subfolders in your ~/Library where other Tor Browser stuff is stored.
