Is it possible to host a relay behind an .ARPA domain?

Hello,

I just wanted to ask: what would happen if a person were to host a relay or a bridge behind an .arpa domain name? Would censors be able to block it? I know I sound insane and like a stark raving lunatic, but hear me out, its been done before. A friend of mine hosts a gotosocial instance on a .arpa domain(https://1.6.0.0.8.0.0.b.e.d.0.a.2.ip6.arpa/) and I was wondering what would happen if a Tor relay was hosted on a .arpa domain. I believe the results would be interesting.

Thank you.

From what I know, domain name does not matter for relay.
Connections are made using public IP address.

Also having specific domain does not prevent censors from blocking IP address.
In such case even if domain will successfully resolve to IP address, establishing connection won’t be possible.

You could try to setup a webtunnel bridge that way and see if it is more resistant to blocking…

Why would domain name matter? By and large, tor ignores your relay info on the search page

Correction: I mean to say webtunnel bridge, not relays.
