Deleting your Tor Forum account is an irreversible process. Once the account is deleted, the admins and the moderators of the Tor Forum will not be able to retrieve your account.
If you decide to join the Tor Forum at some point in the future, you will have to create a new account.
Deleting your account will delete all of your account data and personal messages on the Tor Forum and:
- Will retain your contributions - i.e. any discussion threads created and replies
on existing discussion threads - for the benefit of the broader Tor community. - Your publicly displayed Forum username and email address on the Forum, including
on the discussion threads you created or contributed to, will be anonymized.
To delete your Tor Forum account, please follow these steps:
- Sign into your user account.
- Navigate to your user profile and click on ‘Preferences’.
- Scroll down and click on “Delete My Account”.
- A prompt will show up asking for confirmation. Click on “Delete My Account”.
If you don’t see that option on your account, please contact Tor Forum moderators
to initiate a Forum account deletion request:
- Write a message to Tor Forum moderators by clicking on “Message”.
- You can use this template:
Subject: Tor Forum account deletion request for [Tor Forum username]
I would like to initiate a request to delete my Tor Forum account.
Username: [Your Tor Forum username]
Email address used to create the Tor Forum account: [Your email address
on the Tor Forum]
I understand this is an irreversible process and I will be unable to retrieve
my account once deleted.
