I can't open Tor Browser on Kali Linux

i cant open tor. when i write ./start-tor-browser.desktop i see
Launching ‘./Browser/start-tor-browser --detach’…
but then nothing happens… i also tried writing ./start-tor-browser.desktop --verbose
i saw this -Running Tor Browser as root in a regular user’s session is not supported. ($HOME is /home/kali/Downloads/tor-browser/Browser which is owned by kali.)
i dont know what to do pls help

Looks like some issue with permissions. Are you running the Tor Browser install commands as sudo? or in a session with escalated permissions (see if the shell prompt is # rather than $, for instance)?

in the first place i use root terminal
not first kali and sudo su and then root
in the shell i see #

It is not recommended to run tor as root or install Tor Browser with elevated privileges.
Please switch to a user session on the terminal and try installing Tor Browser after that. All steps are mentioned here, INSTALLATION | Tor Project | Tor Browser Manual
