hi,
I’m using macOS 12.7.6 on a 2015 iMac and Tor Browser 15.0.7.
I can’t import Bookmans in either JSON or HTML format.
When you go to
Bookmarks > Organise Bookmarks > Restore > Choose a File
It is impossible to choose a file, as there is no option to select a json file.
The same applies when importing an HTML file.
As for passwords, after confirming the save, nothing appears on the Settings page, so it doesn’t work when you need it.
Merci,
Bertie,
PS : it’s french to english

Vous devrez traduire cette page daté le 8 juin 2024 si vous ne savez pas lire l’anglais.
La version courte: on ne peut enregistrer les mots de passe avec Tor.
Hi, please follow the steps below
Copy and paste: about:config into the URL bar, click “Accept the risk and continue”.
Set security.nocertdb to false
Restart Tor Browser
Your passwords will be available again
Tor Browser disables writing certdb (intermediate certificates) to disk. This also affects saved passwords. Unfortunately, the corresponding UI elements for passwords has not been removed and makes things confusing
We realize that this is a friction point, and would like to sometimes relax saving to disk when the user opts into it - this being one example we are exploring - but it gets a little complicated since we want passwords but not intermediate certificates
Here’s some notes about it, it…
à note r: la solution est à vos risque

Thanks for the suggestions.
I’d already tried suggestion 1.
Suggestion 2 is a bit of a muddle and isn’t really a step-by-step guide for beginners.
Regarding suggestion 3, the image was very helpful, but I got the following message on restarting:
I followed the instructions on the page:
Find the folder with: about:support
delete the files favicons.sqlite-shm , favicons.sqlite-wal , places.sqlite-shm et places.sqlite-wal s’ils existent.
J’ai retrouvé mes bookmarks et j’ai pu inscrire un mot de passe.
Si ça a marché avec 12.7.6, par contre en 26.3.1, les mots de passe sont toujours impossible à trouver. Pour les bookmarks, c’est bon.

Bertie

I had a problem with 12.7.x this morning; the bookmarks had disappeared, but restarting the browser brought the bookmarks bar back. I’m waiting for the next update.
With 26.3.1, I had to go through the configuration process again. This is what it looks like now.
Have I done something wrong?

Bertie

I should add that if I launch Tor Browser on macOS 12.7.X using the “Open at Startup” feature, the bookmarks bar doesn’t appear, and the “Organize Bookmarks” section is completely empty and unusable.
The same thing happens if I launch Tor Browser via an AppleScript.
I have to launch Tor Browser from the Dock to get Tor with the bookmarks and passwords .
Furthermore, Tor no longer displays passwords or offers to save new ones.
