How much bandwidth is "enough" mirror directory information for others?

I saw the option ## Uncomment this to mirror directory information for others. Please do if you have enough bandwidth.

  1. How much bandwidth is considered “enough?”
  2. How can we know what Tor has determined to be our bandwidth? (since VPS’ and ISPs can exaggerate speed estimates).
  3. How do we enable mirroring directory information for others? I assume I would remove the first # from #DirPort 9030 # what port to advertise for directory connections but don’t know whether to do anything to # what port to advertise for directory connectionsor leave it there. Apologies for not experimenting and trying to figure it out on my own, I’m trying to minimize downtime to get my relay past the unmeasured phase.

That option is now deprecated, ORPort will automatically mirror directory info if you have enough bandwidth (likely >1MiB/s). Bandwidth is calculated from outside authority nodes.
DirPort can now be used to host an embedded little web server that returns an html (usually a Tor exit notice).
