The website am trying to use require DRM to be enabled but i don’t see the option in the settings like in Firefox, is it possible to enable it and is there any risk of doing so ?
No and it’s as risky as not using Tor Browser because nobody knows what the DRM software not included in Tor Browser actually does as it’s closed-source.
DRM playback has been disabled on Tor Browser and there is no setting to re-enable it. It may be possible to work around this, but I would not advise trying to do so.
I’d instead suggest using a different browser for the site in question.
Probably unrelated topic:
I remembered one mention that hardware-based DRM implementations tie “user’s right to access” to cryptography materials stored in user’s GPU. If that is true, it means DRM media vendors (like Hulu) can acquire hardware identifiers that are permanent (not modifiable). If that also applies to Firefox’s DRM feature, it would be a privacy nightmare for Tor Browser which focuses on making every Tor browser users looked the same, if DRM isn’t disabled.
The problem is , I don’t know if that is how Firefox’s DRM feature work. Firefox might as well only supports Widevine L3 which only allows videos to be viewed in low definition, in which case it won’t be a big concern that DRM vendors can tie users to their hardware identifiers.
Also be warned that once you tried to use other browsers through Tor, your traffic becames very identifiable, and it’s not recommended if you wants to browse anonymously.
