Circuit change has no effect

I am using tor 14.5.2 on linux and when I go to the A.I. site

and change the circuit on Tor the AI site remebers all previous information. this should not happen.

changing circuit only change the IP you use to go to that website, which can be handy if the website is blocking some (but not all) exit nodes.

To clear a session entirely (including cookies, and other similar storage), you can use the “New identity” button instead. It’s located just above the “New Tor circuit for this website” button

I noticed that this new AI , QWEN I tried did not remove previous questions as other AI did when I did a circuit change. Wouldn’t cookies related to that site be removed?

The “New Circuit for this Site” button only changes your circuit, which means a new IP address is used to connect to the destination site. However, your browser still keeps all settings, data, and cookies from visited sites.
If you want everything to be reset, you should choose the “New Identity” button.

From the docs on New Tor Circuit for this Site: “This option does not clear any private information or unlink your activity, nor does it affect your current connections to other websites”

A new circuit just refreshes the page with a new tor circuit. As the other 2 respondents said, you need to use the “New identify” button to clear site data.
