Today, I got a problem with ChatGPT when I tried to log into my account, but I received the following error: Route Error (500): ‘The operation is insecure.’
Before this, I had been using ChatGPT through Tor Browser for a long time without any issues, but today I had to restart my laptop, which reset everything in Tor Browser, and I had to log in again, but I couldn’t due to this error. I also tried using an extension in Google Chrome that redirects traffic from Tor, but I received the same error.
Security protocol: standard. I also tried changing bridges. I have never altered any other settings.
I was able to reproduce your issue by trying to use ChatGPT through Tor, I immediately got the same error.
An alternative would be to use duck.ai. Which is a ‘private’ interface from DuckDuckGo to ChatGPT. Works perfectly on Tor.
Some side notes regarding OpSec: Be very, very cautious when using ChatGPT. This is a huge OpSec issue!
ChatGPT logs all prompts (also through alternatives like duck.ai).
If you were logged in to ChatGPT, of course your already deanonymised.
When you ask ChatGPT “hey I have a problem with this config.file for xxx, where is the error”, and you paste the contents of your config file accidentally containing identifiable information deanonymised.
Asking for support with coding with your onion service website State actors could suddenly match the content of your code with the prompt.
Letting ChatGPT rewrite a mail and sending it Your mail could be linked to your prompts.
