Cannot connect to v2 onion service in Tor Browser on Android 13.0

Hi guys,
I’m trying to connect to .onion pages from my Android but it doesn’t work.

  • Operating System: Android 13.0
  • Tor Browser version 115.2.1 - release 13.5
  • Tor Browser Security Level - Standard
  • Step by step of how you got to the issue, so we can reproduce it (e.g. I opened the browser, typed a url, clicked on (i) icon, then my browser crashed): I open Tor browser and digit “http://msydqstlz2kzerdg.onion/“. Message returned:’connessione non riuscita’
  • The Tor log: [WARN] Invalid hostname [scrubbed]; rejecting * *

VPN - Orbot (I tried with and without VPN)
Private DNS - disabled
Proxy - none

Could you kindly give me any suggestions?

Hi! The onion service you are trying to reach is an older v2 version (16 symbols) and no longer supported:

The new v3 addresses should have 56 symbols.

(Also we do not recommend using Tor Browser with VPN )
