Can Tor Improve Site Access Speed Without Compromising Anonymity?

I’ve been experimenting with Tor Browser for regular browsing and noticed significant slowdowns on content-heavy sites. I understand anonymity has its trade-offs, but I’m curious—are there any technical developments or community suggestions around improving loading speeds without weakening the privacy standards Tor is known for?

Also wondering:

  • Can specific exit nodes or bridge configurations improve speed?
  • Are there any best practices for hosting websites optimized for Tor visitors?

Would love to hear from both users and devs. This is purely for curiosity and performance enhancement while staying privacy-respectful.

Thanks!

Using a relay instead of a bridge usually makes the Tor Browser faster, as bridges can slow down your connection.
Setting specific exit nodes can reduce your anonymity.
While a large relay might seem faster, I think speed is similar. If a person connect to a slow relay, he or she will switch to another route.

It is better to discuss speed based on measurements.
