Bridges: Android Vs. Windows

Hello all,

I am wondering if there is a difference in how Tor for Android and Tor for Windows handle bridges. I am currently at the library, incdentially trying to research VPNs, and the library blocks these sites. Same with Tor actually. I’m on here right now via an obfs4 bridge on Windows.¹

I bring this up, because I also have Tor on my phone, but even with copying the same obfs4 bridge that my PC is using, it can’t connect.

  • Is this something with Android?
  • Is it attempting to connect to Tor more apparent or something?
  • What would you suggest as a next step?
  • Does DuckDuckGo Browser’s Third Party Tracking blocking inhibit Tor?

I’ve also tried Meek-Azure to no luck. Orbot has the same issues.
FWIW - Proton VPN can’t connect either.

¹They block Tor’s website and bridgeless entrances to Tor as well. Which I can understand why they’d block Tor and VPNs. Using public wifi, they don’t want you circumventing their whatever as the library can get in trouble with the law. (Though on one hand, I’ve never come across anything else blocked on the library’s wifi. On the other hand, I’ve never looked at porn at the library. Maybe Pornhub or whatever is blocked.) Also, prevents bandwidth being sucked up by games or whatever.
