Bitwarden integration in Tor

Dear all,

I’ve installed Tor a couple of days ago but I can’t have a working integration of the Bitwarden add-on.

I know add-ons installation is discouraged in Tor but nevertheless I’d like to install and use this.

In Firefox I have two features that seem to be missing in my Tor installation:

1. Automatic fill-in of user and password. In Firefox when I’m on a login page of a site whose credentials are stored in Bitwarden vault I can click on the “Login” or “Password” fields and select the Bitwarden item I want to use. In Tor even if I click on one of those fields I can’t see any suggestion about credentials to use.
2. Bitwarden icon on the tool bar. In Firefox there was the possibility to add Bitwarden icon on the toolbar so that I could click on it, open the GUI and chose the credentials I wanted to use.

Basically, without one of the features above Bitwarden add on is useless as there is no way to access items stored in the vault.

Is there anything wrong with my installation or this is the way it’s supposed to work?

If you really want to do this here is how: You’ll need to allow the extension to run in private windows when you install it (all of Tor Browser’s windows are private).

To show an extension’s icon in the toolbar click on the “Extensions“ icon (top right - looks like a jigsaw puzzle piece). The Bitwarden extension should pop up. Click on the gear icon and select “Pin to Toolbar“. Then you can select login info by right clicking a login field and navigating via the Bitwarden context menu - or by clicking the Bitwarden icon itself.

Here is Tor Browser 14.5.6 with the Bitwarden icon on the toolbar showing 2 logins for the domain. Ignore the second tab I had open:
