I just thought I’d share some feedback on the substantial increase in proxy traffic I’m seeing right now. I only recently upgraded my standalone proxy to v2.13.1 and that could be a factor. My proxy runs on my OpenWrt router in unrestricted mode with no capacity limit.
- Concurrent connections are up from a usual figure of 7 to figures often above 50
- Throughput has increased to figures consistently above 500KB/s hourly average (download) from generally much lower & much more variable hourly rates
- Metrics show the largest number of successful connections from the following 4 countries: US, RU, IR, ??
- Memory usage is peaking at somewhat under 300MB, which is quite manageable for my device
I don’t know how much of the above is as a result of the upgrade. I expected more traffic from Russia, given 2.13.1 circumvents a recent censorship measure the Russian authorities introduced. Iran also seems to have opened its internet somewhat, as I was seeing very few connections from Iran until recently.
