Are Tor Nodes potentially dangerous even if u use HTTPS and what data should/can u trust?

I think u should use mullvad browser for websites u trust your ip, is my statement correct?

I guess you could technically say everything is potentially dangerous, personally I would trust Tor nodes. With correctly validated HTTPs connections nodes shouldn’t be able to read or write in your data. Thats my take on it anyways.

While agreeing with 0x73dev let me add this. Tor is for anonymity only. Some will say that noscript will protect you in some way but noscript is also available on any other browser.

If some bad site can somehow manage to compromise you then Tor (or any VPN) will transport that attack to you. Example: if a site can trick you to login to your proton account by using PROT0N.ME in the url and it imitates it very well then you will get burnt.

Protection is the job of your anti-virus and your instincts.

I know but are there things u shouldn’t trust tor nodes even if u are in HTTPS? And are there ways to enhance security on tor nodes (except using https)

Honestly, this is one of those questions that pops up all the time, and for good reason! People get tripped up because they mix up what Tor and HTTPS actually do.

To put it simply: Tor hides who you are and where you’re connecting from, while HTTPS hides what you’re actually sending back and forth.

The reason people stress out about exit nodes is because of that last step on the Tor network. If you hit a regular HTTP site, whoever is running that exit node can literally see everything you type. But with HTTPS, even a sketchy exit node just sees scrambled gibberish—they can’t read your passwords or private chats.

So yeah, HTTPS saves you from nosey exit node operators, but it won’t save you if you log into your personal social media accounts or leak your real info. They’re two totally different layers of security, and you kind of need both!

I am worried that even with HTTPS the exit node can SOMEHOW see my traffic.

If there is a small risk that the exit node can see your personal data so u shouldn’t trust certain data like email or personal chat
