I might be missing a configuration item but it would be nice if the initial launch page for Tor Browser had a customizable Search Engine just as its Search bar is customizable.
Let me know if I am missing something, please.

nope, you didn’t. I opened it because of what you asked. Anyway, answered now - it’s hardcoded (because reasons with about:tor - i.e it is not activity stream, so probably complexity/time constraints), but looks like they might change that next quarter
