# Wrong relay location

My relay on [metrics.torproject.org](http://metrics.torproject.org) shows up like it is in US although it is hosted in Germany, Frankfurt. What is the cause of that?

either the “GeoIP database for Tor” is outdated or your IP/AS has outdated identification.  
would you please check here `https://apps.db.ripe.net/db-web-ui/query?searchtext=YOURIPADDRESS` if your IP has correct identification?

if it has, you might go with this procedure to correct it:

I think it is because I checked the IP of my node and this lookup knows that this IP address is from Oracle, oracle is the American company so I think it assumes that the address is from America.

It appears like it is listed as US here as well

What do I do in this case?
