Which version of the Tor client is faster?

Has anyone tested which version of the Tor client is faster? For example, comparing Tor 0.4.4.6 with Tor 0.4.9.6:

the 0.4.4.6 version is more streamlined and has lower code complexity, whereas 0.4.9.6 introduces Conflux but comes with higher code complexity, which might actually make Tor slower.

What are your thoughts or recommendations?

We’re talking about “little-t” tor, right? I’d never go with an elder, outdated version security-wise just for speed.
