# Tor wont launch properly-help!

hey.  
ive been having some issues with Tor browser on windows 10 21H2.

when i first launch tor i get this error message:

when i click ok i get this message:

and then i get this message:

how do i even start finding what the underlying issue is?i am complete noob,and i would really appreciate some help here.

Hello,

There is a GitLab ticket open to track this error and a workaround:

> While we’re waiting for someone to figure out why this is happening, you can get it working on Windows 10 by setting Tor’s firefox.exe to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode:
> 
> - Right-clicking on Tor’s firefox.exe, and select properties
> - In the “Compatibility” tab, check the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for”, and set the dropdown box to Windows 7

THANK YOU!  
it didnt work in win 7 comp mode but i troubleshot it and went with the settings applied by the troubleshooting.  
maybe someone else cane get help with this extremely annoying issue.
