Hello,
seems I need assistance.
I can’t get running my relay with ip6.

I use a raspberry 32bit with Boockworm, the current version 6.12.109+rpt-rpi-v7 .
I running the version
Tor 0.5.0.0-alpha-dev on Linux

My tor relay is working with ip4 fine since a month.
But if i activate ip6 the tor daemon is not starting.

torrc:

ORPort 43050 Noadvertise
ORPort 443 IPV4Only NoListen

works well.

But:

# IPv4-Konfiguration
ORPort 43050 Noadvertise
ORPort 443 NoListen

# IPv6-Konfiguration

ORPort [2003: … my IP6 Raspberry address…]:43050

caused the relay is not starting.
IP6 seems Ok if I run on the command line:

ping6 -c2
2a02:16a8:662:2203::1 && ping6 -c2 2620:13:4000:6000::1000:118 && ping6 -c2 2001:67c:289c::9 && ping6 -c2
2001:678:558:1000::244 && ping6 -c2 2001:638:a000:4140::ffff:189 && echo OK

is answering “OK.”

rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 28.357/28.560/28.763/0.203 ms
OK.)

I activate the debugging in the torrc:
Log debug file /var/log/tor/debug.log
But the file is not existing, will not create after reboot.

Also the activated torrc line
Log debug stderr

(systemctl stop tor
systemctl start tor)

create no output.

May be the tor alpha version is faulty?
Maybe I made a torrc syntax error?
Maybe I made a firewall configuration error (fpsense)?

Can I get assistance please?

Best regards Jens

IPv6 needs ICMPv6 - maybe you blocked it ?

At least these settings [1] are needed.

Good hint, yes, I don’t open my fpsense for icmp6.
Thanks for your help.

But I have still problems to make it running with a fpsense router. My tor relay is routed over the second wan interface. But the global ip6 address is comming from the first WAN interface.
I try to use the local tor ip6 address routed to WAN2 interface - use the address operator with the WAN2 DYNDNS name - but this caused ip4 is not longer connected.

So im serching still for a good idea to make it stabil running.
But until now ip4 is OK.

Thanks for your help,
Jens
