# Passwords? or PW Managers?

While the password saving functionality is [disabled](https://forum.torproject.org/t/saving-passwords-in-tor/6896/2) in Tor Browser, you can still install password-manager browser extensions. I’d highly discourage adding external add-ons to Tor Browser though as this will alter your browser fingerprint.

Another alternative is using a standalone password manager (for example, KeepassXC) . One benefit of standalone password managers is that your passwords are not tied into one single browser.
