My cousins are in a state where they have blocked reddit, telegram, discord, twitter and other messaging apps. Certain vpns with servers in the country are ok to use but here is what the official rules say

_VPN providers and data centers are expected to log:_
_Your full name, physical address, email address, and phone number_
_The IP address you used to register for the VPN, together with a timestamp_
_The IP addresses you use connect to VPN servers in the country, together with a timestamp for each connection_
_A list of all IP addresses issued to each customer_
_Your reason for using a VPN_
_Failure to comply can lead to one year in prison._

Some of these blocked platforms are either mobile only or they don’t work if used through the tor network like reddit and twitter. All these websites and apps work well with orbot which uses the tor network but orbot doesn’t connect at all when we select a bridge like obsf4 and sometimes the browser shows real ip even if full system protection is enabled.

Checked many threads about orbot on this forum and people are facing similar issues with orbot

> Hi there! I’ve recently set up a private bridge (for reasons). Whenever I paste the bridge line into Orbot and attempt to connect, it will show 100% for a brief moment before terminating the connection. I’ve never seen this behavior before. Debugging steps I’ve tried: Double checking bridge line (done!) Connecting to the bridge via the Tor Browser Mac (success)! Connecting to the bridge via Orbot 1.6.7 Mac (success)! Connecting to the bridge via Onion Browser (success)! Reinstalling Orbo…

> I’m using the: latest version of CalyxOS latest version of Orbot for Android from F-Droid via the Guradian Project’s repo It looks like WhatsApp doesn’t like some exit nodes. It’ll frequently act as if it can’t connect, even though Orbot has established a connection. This is usually (but not always) fixed by restarting the connection to Orbot. Force quitting the app does not remediate the problem. Other notes related to setup: Firewall set to only allow “VPN” (Orbot) and mobile data for Wh…

> Ever since about a month ago, Orbot for Android’s “Start VPN” button doesn’t toggle and when the device initially turns on, I get a brief prompt at the bottom of my display that says “Orbot configuration invalid.” All of this behavior occurs despite whether I serve as a relay or not. I don’t use Orbot as a VPN — I have another VPN being used and Orbot has been added to its allow list. Orbot is in my main profile and has unrestricted battery and network access. Despite this, the number of connect…

Is there any solution for these issues? Since orbot is not working well, so can any vpn be trusted in this use case?

Usually in the tor documentation it is said that selecting an exit node is not good for anonymity. So, why does orbot give an option to select an exit node?
