# New Alpha Release: Tor Browser 12.0a1 (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Tor Browser 12.0a1 is now available from the [Tor Browser download page](https://www.torproject.org/download/alpha/) and also from our [distribution directory](https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/12.0a1/).
Tor Browser 12.0a1 updates Firefox on Windows, macOS, and Linux to 91.12.0esr.
We use the opportunity as well to update various other components of Tor Browser:
- Tor Launcher 0.2.38
- OpenSSL 1.1.1q
- Go 1.17.13
This version includes important [security updates](https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2022-29/) to Firefox.
