I recently installed the program LinSSID on two tails systems. In both cases, I used the Synaptic software manager and was logged on as administrator.
In the first instance, Tails allows me to use the program as a regular user, while, in the second instance, I am required to be an administrator. I am not comfortable with this latter situation because I will only be using this program when I connect to the Internet using public hotspots and so worry that being an administrator when logged in will increase my vulnerability to attack or snooping.
Why this difference in the two installations and how to I convert the second cast so I can use the program without being an administrator?
