# Enabling non-private tabs on Tor for Android

Downloaded the latest alpha build (armv7) because I needed to edit the config for this, and the browser.privatebrowsing.autostart variable being set to false doesn’t actually do anything (seemingly). I have it disabled on desktop, where it works just fine, but on mobile it still forces me into private mode. Please don’t tell me about how bad disabling private mode is, it wouldn’t be an option on the desktop client either otherwise, I just want to know how to disable it or otherwise open tabs outside of it. Thank you.
