Can no longer connect, "Potentially blocked"

Hello,

Until a couple of weeks ago, I could use Tor but now, I can no longer connect:

Connect → “Tor Browser could not connect to Tor”. Title says : “Potentially blocked”

“Try a bridge”: Tor Browser couldn’t locate you. […] Component returned failure code: 0x804b000d (NS_ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED) [nsIScriptableInputStream.available]"

“View the Tor logs” = empty

What could I try? Has my ISP blocked Tor?

Windows 10 64bit
Tor 12.5.6 (based on Mozilla Firefox 102.15.1esr) (64-bit)
Tor Browser Security Level unknown

Thank you.

PS: Windows Defender: “Tor” not listed in Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Defender Firewall\Allowed apps

Edit: Adding “FascistFirewall 1” to the torrc file and restarting “Start Tor Browser” makes no difference.

“c:\Users\blah\Desktop\Tor Browser\Browser\TorBrowser\Data\Tor\torrc”

Hello,
This seems related to, TorBrowser 12.5.6 no longer flagged by Windows Defender

Please try what is mentioned in that thread, but, since there is a newer version of Tor Browser available I would recommend making a fresh install of the latest version of Tor Browser (i.e. Tor Browser 13) instead.

For that, please uninstall what you have right now:

  1. Locate your Tor Browser folder or application. The default location is the Desktop.
  2. Delete the Tor Browser folder or application.
  3. Empty your Trash.

…and then make a fresh install, INSTALLATION | Tor Project | Tor Browser Manual

Thanks much.

  1. Deleted “c:\Users\fred\Desktop\Tor Browser” and emptied trash
  2. Installed latest Tor
  3. Launched Tor: Success!
